Beth Burns, DO

Beth Burns, DO

Internal Medicine
Orlando, Florida
Dr. Beth Burns is originally from Chicago, IL where she grew up in one of the country's original pre-planned communities, Forest Park.  Avalon Park is a natural fit for her because her hometown was one where all stores, schools, churches, parks and the YMCA were within walking or biking distance.  She graduated from Baylor University in Texas and did her medical training at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Fl.  She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, FL and is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine/ABIM.  Her family is from rural Mississippi and she spent five years in private practice in Biloxi on the Gulf Coast.  She and her husband Dan have triplets that are now ten years old.  The children were born very premature with special needs and the family moved back to Flordia for the larger school system.  Dan finished school at UCF and FL A&M Law School and has been what Beth calls "the flexible parent", taking charge of the children's activities.  Dr. Burns spent six years in the VA system doing primary care and spinal cord injury primary care with veterans here in Florida.  Her interests are diabetes, blood pressure, chronic kidney, heart and lung disease, primary care SCI and senior care.  She left the VA to come back to the Florida Hospital System doing in-patient work, but when a clinic practice opportunity opened in Avalon Park, she felt this was the place for her to be most valuable.  Dr. Burns, her family and staff have found the small town environment of Avalon Park and East Orlando very welcoming.  Beth's husband Dan now works with Beechner & Englert, an Avalon Park Civil Law firm located in the main entrance storefronts, and their daughter Alana takes piano at Avalon School of Mucsic every week.  If you are not already familiar with Avalon Park and the East Orlando communities, we invite you to come see for yourself!  You will find that you can stay on this side of town for many of your daily needs and activities, including visiting your primary care physician!
